Turbo-diesel (D24T) flywheel lightening 700 1985

Hi all,

can the flywheel on the D24T turbo-diesel engine, coupled to a M46 manual transmission, be mildly lightened?

Would the D24T engine be happy with that?

I have been running my 1975 Volvo 245 (B20F engine and M41 transmission) with a mildly lightened stock-flywheel, with only good results.

That B20F flywheel was lightened by approximately 3.5 pounds, with all metal removed only from the perimeter.
