O2 Sensor(s) update (there are two of 'em??!!??) S90-V90

OK- a 1997 960 @ 139K, so I installed me a used low mileage 2nd-ary air pump as per the diagnostic computer and it passed the Mass. DMV emissions (whew!)
Butt, the CE light returned (like a stalker!) and the computer now seyz an Oxygen sensor needs replacing- but lo & behold there are two (front, rear) DOH!

Does one generally fail more so than the other????
My time and $$$ are valuable (as are yours) so anyone, Buhler????

Also, just how long are those wires to the sensor(s), as obviously
this in way unfamiliar territory to me...
