road trip 444-544

Don't ask why! I'm going to be driving from SoCal to Seattle in about a week, in a B14 PV444. Like tattoos and inappropriate girlfriends, the only possible answer to "why" is; "seemed like a good idea at the time,.."!!! I do trust the car, life is an adventure, and fools rush in where wiser men won't go.
What I'm looking for is a few good men, or folks who would be willing to provide assistance of some undetermined kind should I find myself broken down and desperate out where the coyotes roam. That would probably be in the form of a phone call asking where can I find a ? radiator, a set of generator brushes, or, or, or. Hell, I don't know, moral support is assistance enough. Taking along a "road box" of spares, including water pump, oil pump, set-up distributor, fuses, bulbs, clamps, etc. Have the AAA Plus 100 mile tow insurance. I'm completely familiar with the car, and plan to take my time on the back roads. Flying without a net, in a car that's never been more than 200 miles from the place where it was first sold new, back in '56! Getting there is more than half the fun, and I'll try to keep a journal.
Will be driving to the east of L.A., through the high desert. Go north, then cut across to Sonoma, above San Francisco, then up the 101 to Portland. Have family there, but then it's lonely all the way to Seattle.
You know what they said about the pioneers; "the timid never left, and the weak died along the way,..!!!
