Greetings fellow brick jockeys.
I have purchased a 93 940 Turbo wagon in remarkable condition and a recently
overhaulded top end. All appearing to have been done by a dealer as I've not seen so many Volvo logos outside a Big 10 faculty parking lot. Turbos apparently made serious strides since my '80 Saab 900 all those years ago.
Does anyone know what might be keeping the back three doors from activating the dome light? I ran across a mention in the owner's manual about what sounded like a temporary / per incident feature wherein the button could be manipulated to
keep the dome light from coming on to save energy. That doesn't seem like what is going on here. All three of the back doors fail to activate the dome lights. I had individual jam buttons require attention on my 240 but a little re grounding and some switch cleaner fixed it up straight away. The two rear doors and the tailgate must have a common failure somewhere. Hardly the end of the world but it would be nice to get the dome light control back. I am guessing the tailgate just turns on the rear interior light. My sister and brother have had a half dozen of these wagons between them over the years and I believe that is how they worked. Any suggestions would be helpful. Next, we shall see that the light in the fridge and microwave come on as they should.
Thanks
