We have been hunting down a clunk, or more explicitely a `thump`at either side of the front suspension. Occures more on the right side, but has also occured a few times on the left.
It seems to happen when the suspension shifts tension, i.e. If I switch the car to reverse, turn the steering to right or left, and start to drift backwards. After a foot or so, THUMP. Drive forward, go one foot, THUMP. It`s a heavy thump, kind of like a suspoension member is stuck and knocks back into place. Not tie rod sound... It does not thump when cruising and going over minor road bumps, nor when turning up into a parking (like horizontal play on the ball joint).
Let me know if you have any thoughts..
Thanks,
Greg
