Leaking exhaust at turbo/downpipe interface 900 1995

Hey Folks,

I recently purchased a 944T with a professionally made custom 3" exhaust system. I took it in to get it through the Out of Province safety inspection and they failed it because there's a small exhaust leak at the interface between the turbo and the downpipe. It looks to me as though the interface flange was made properly, it just doesn't seal 100% completely. (Do they ever ?)

What should I do ? How can I get a tight seal at that joint for at least long enough to pass the inspection ? Should I take the pipe apart at that joint, smear in a little JB Weld or some other product and bolt it back together ? Is there some other product I could use that would be easier to remove in case I ever have to break that joint apart and reseal it in the future ?

I could take some pics of the leaky interface if people need to see what it looks like in order to be able to suggest how to fix it ?

Thanks,

Roger
