Pertronix in a PV with the old locked coil - - - - any luck? 444-544

I am in the process of installing a Pertronix module in my vac advance Bosch dizzy and trying to use the old locked coil. The car starts but runs rough. Has Anyone had any success with this? Pertronix recomends a coil with at least 3 ohms, mine is 8 ohms (almost 3 times as much) I am planning to buy the Pertronix coil but I would like to be sure this is the solution. Any input would be appreciated as Carlisle is getting close, and if I have to I will put the old points back but only as a last resort.
