Auto Trans * W70 and W70L Where and How * 200

Hi Gang

Could use your expertise on this problem/change.

[I have tried the other methods for service to the original W70 trans, 22 qt. flush, removed solenoid-replaced with bypass plate and adjusted cable no change] See other ad/response on trans.

I think I have to replace the transmission in my 1992 240 sedan as it doesent shif into OD.

I would like to the O.D. trans with a/the W70L with lockup converter, to replace the standard unit in the car now. What parts would I need?

I believe that this model/trans is called W70L, what car models and years can I find this trans in.

I have been told that the W70L gets better mileage and should be adaptable to the 240 4cyl. Is this correct.

I have heard that I could get a used one, but it costs 300-400.00 to replace/swap out a unit at the local garage.

Would it be better to get/have a core (junk yard, etc.) and have it rebuilt?

Where can I find a good rebuilder or a rebuilt unit for the W70L, any names/people?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
JR
