I found a very nice looking 1964 130 (two door) Amazon. I've not closed the deal, but barring a local sniper, I'm quite likely to be driving it back to St. Louis next weekend.
I'm really a fan of wagons, and if you recall my old signature, I've owned almost nothing but volvo wagons (220, 1800ES, 145, 245, 745, 945). The sole exception is JohnMC's old 1800E which bought for junk, drove for a few months and then stripped for parts. I know the wagon models pretty well, but not much about the sedans. Furthermore, I know little about Volvos pre-1967. I'm used to collapsible steering wheels, 3-point safety belts and things like that.
I plan to use this new car as my daily drive/rolling restoration once I've disposed of my wife's corolla. So... what sort of differences am I looking at in driving a 1964 130, versus the 1967 220 that I had been working on and driving? What sort of safety upgrades should I perform to one ASAP (aside from a pedal-position brake sensor)?
Thanks for any advice!
