Before replacing the oil breather box, my idle was a good steady 900-1000 rpm. After replacement it idles at 1300 rpm. If I’m in Drive with my foot on the brake it comes down to 1000. During the replacement I cleaned the throttle body and idle air controller with carb cleaner. Other than that I did nothing that would have any effect on the idle (that I know of).
I replaced the breather box because of oil leaking out the filler cap and probably other places too. Now I don’t have the oil leaks, so I’m wondering if since the system is breathing so much better now that it has caused the idle to rise. I know there is a screw on the front of the throttle body that I can adjust the idle with, and I would then need to adjust the electrical switch on the back of the throttle body. Do I need to adjust this? It doesn’t seem right to me.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
