driving into work today i lost over-drive. just prior to no over-drive i heard a growling, slight slip then no more over-drive. solenoid is still there, haven't had much of a chance to really look at it (i'm at work) but things seem pretty wet down there (oil every where). i've got my fingers crossed i'm low on oil, but is there any way of making sure the over-drive has oil in it?
i know there's a fill plug on the tranny but i don't recall one on the over-drive unit? about a week ago i lost over-drive and it turned out to be a burnt switch on the dash, i rewired a 30 amp switch into it and she started working again, but i didn't like the sound of that growl this afternoon. gotta 30 mile drive home a whole lot slower than normal, but then wagons never had the 41 originally anyway, she'll make it screaming all the way!
