Odd sort of bearing noise at the cam. 200 1982

82 245 GL,157,000 miles, k-jet, no turbo, no amm. I have this odd noise that I have pinpointed to be coming from the cam shaft right at the timing belt cover. It sounds like if you had a ball bearing inside of a tin can and you were rolling the bearing around but it is a bit of a dry sound(If that makes any sense). It is very consistant and is only apparent at idle when I rev the car it revs up normal and the sound does not get louder but it does go away until the car rests back at idle. I know its not the tensioner because I put a piece of hose in my ear and put it to the tensioner hole and got nothing but when I put it to the cam pulley it was very noticable that it was coming from there. The sound does not appear to be getting worse but it is worry some to have it making that kind of noise, and you cant hear it from the drivers side of the car, only if you stand in front of the motor is it really noticable. Please help guys, if anyone knows what this might be I would love to hear it.

PS the car just got a new timing belt and tensioner about 2000 miles ago.
