Sagging rearend on 960 900 1994

Hello,

I bought a 94' 960 a couple days ago. It passed inspection
and I am pretty happy with it.. except.. the rearend is sagging.
The tires are about an inch into the wheel well. How do I know
if it is the springs that have compressed or the shocks? (I dont
know much about suspensions). When I drive for a bit, it is a few
inches higher as if the shocks were pumping up (if thats possible)
but after a wait the car seems to settle in its sagged position.

So I found an article to determine if i have nivomats or not. I
saw that the current shocks have a lobed boot, so i guess I have
nivomats. They are horribly expensive, and if the shocks are the
culprit, could i put some extra stiff springs to make up the
difference. I would like to hear any options you may think of.

Thanks
