Not holding a charge 120-130

My 122 has been over winter so I wasn't surprised that the battery seemed totally flat so I got a jump off of "Ugly Betty" my 740. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and took it out on the freeway. At freeway speeds it just barely holding 12 volts. and it was just barely above 12v with the lights on. Turning the wipers on made the volt meter dive a dive, so I quickly turn them off.

My question is, how do I determine if it is the battery or the alternator? I know nothing about electical stuff. I checked the battery and it doesn't have the little punchouts on it saying when it was bought. It has a 6 year warranty and I know I haven't had it for THAT long. How to I find out if the alternator has given up the ghost, (I am assuming a '67 B-18 has an alternator, unlike my '62 544)

Are there cheaper aftermarket alternators that will work? I am even more broke than usual having just paid property taxes, and having a cat that needed the attentions of a vet.

Thanks folks!
