Sachs clutch vs. Borg & Beck 140-160

Hi is there a difference between the two? Are they interchageable?

I am having shifting problems, specifically I can't get into 1st or any gear once the motor is running. It feels like the clutch is not disengaging. The cable is a new one from Volvo and is in one piece, (I checked it). I put in a brand new sachs clutch from ipd and even with the cable adjusted all the way to the wrong end, (as if the clutch was old) with very little slack in the cable. the clutch does not disengage.
If I put the car in gear and start it it moves as being in gear and engaged even with my foot all the way on the clutch.
Are there two different legnth cables for a 142?
I measured the movement of the cable/clutch fork and it is about an inch.

What am I missing?
Thank you,
CU
