Armored coil bypass 444-544 1964

Was hoping to at least temporarily install an auxiliary coil to run off of, and was curious about the best way to do it. I'd prefer not to cut the armored one, but if that's the way to do it...

We suspect the coil is bad so maybe no great loss.

Can I just hook the new coil up to any switched IGN power on the back of the switch itself? To the starter solenoid?

Sorry if it's been covered before, search keeps timing out.

Thanks much, -Sean
