1997 965 How to add a/c refrigerant

Previous post about wifemobile not keeping her cool.

Went to AutoZone to get a can of R134a and the hose, connector, gauge stuff to add the stuff.

Great variety of types, hoses, gauges, etc. Bought nothing.

Looked under hood, the compressor is way done therer in the dark, could not see the ports.

My assumption:

Get car off ground.

Drop gravel shield.

Find compressor low pressure port. (Ther is one, right?)

Hook up connector, hose, gauge, can, etc.

Start car and allow R134a to flow until there's enough in there. (One gauge has a variable marker to set for ambient temp.)

Check center vent temp. Did it reach 73F ?

Disconnect, re-assemble, etc. Get off ramps. Test drive.

Is this a reasonable procedure? This car is so different (and more expensive) than the 240s I know so well,

Advice tips and comments are most welcome.

Thank you,

Bob
