fuel pressure problem 140-160

ever since i picked up the 71 142e i've had a problem starting it, i have no problem with cold starts or if its still hot. the problem is once it sits and starts to cool down its real hard to start, i've had the fuel pump check valve changed and it seemed to help but now its the same again. seems like a fuel pressure problem, everything turns over fine. lots of juice, replaced the dizzy.does anyone have another idea, anything i can check?
