Pesky Idiot Light and the strapless jug 900 1993

The lamp monitoring indicator on my recently acquired '93 940 Turbo Wagon insists upon staying on despite all of the bulbs appearing to be fine. It went from full time on to only being so when the lights are turned on after I tracked down some burned out bulbs. It now comes on with the lights though nothing seems to be out of whack. Today it began blinking with the turn signal. All turn lamps are fine and apparently can't be installed backward. The car has had excellent care over it's life and this is hardly a life altering malady.
One of the straps holding the fuel tank in has also broken. My mechanic, while widely experienced, has only dealt with this a couple of times and recalls no particular part for this. Is there a recommended part for the strapping in of fuel tanks? I won't put more than five gallons in the tank until I get it fixed. . These days, who can afford to fill it up anyhow. I also keep the boost to the left of the gauge to keep the fuel use down. I have also always understood cruise control on the highway to be helpfulas well. It seemed reasonable so long as I turn it off going up steep hills. Thanks for any input from the readers.
