The mystery of the haunted 95 960 code 232 continues. Today, I took the car in and had the O2 and MAF tested with the ECU codes 232 on. The 02 testes fine for voltage, and the MAF was ok.

Next, I cleared all the codes, and engine started to run super lean, surges rpms, runs lean. The 02 didn't register at all, but the MAF is fine.

The indy says something is causing the car to run super lean, at which point the ECU senses it, and bypasss all the sensors. Eventually it post the 232.

They don't think it is the fuel pump or injectors because it only does the rpm surges when the code is cleared. Man, I have about had it with this.

I have:

changed the oil
new/used MAF
high test fuel
injector cleaner
smoke test - replaced the clean air hose
sprayed carb cleaner by intake gasket - no surges
new spark plugs
transmission fluid fine, colour good
coolant temp sensors - replaced both new in 2005
tested MAF & 02 as above - 02 does not read at all when codes cleared

Not sure where to go from here.
