JimN696 and Strong-Pimp-Hand...I raise a glass of beer to you! 200 1991

You may have read my earlier post about scoring a junkyard AW70 transmission for my fiancee's 1991 240 wagon. Everyone who responded was very helpful, but I thought all of you should know that two brickboard members in particular were very quick to offer their assistance.

Both JimN696 and Strong-Pimp-Hand saw I was in need and offered me spare transmissions. I'm happy to say that, while on a trip to Harry's U-Pull-It in Hazleton, PA, I made a side trip to NJ to see Jim about his transmission. He gave me a low-mileage unit from a 1992 240 sans torque converter free of charge, and was insistent that I not give him anything for it. I was able to score both a converter and another parts tranny at Harry's, so all in all, it was a productive road trip.

While in NJ, I was fortunate enough to get to check out Jim's ride. If you haven't seen it, or seen pictures, it's a real beauty! The car is as clean as can be, features all sorts of little "one-off" mods that make it stand out, and was obviously built with a lot of love and care. My compliments!

I also had the opportunity to speak with Jim and his son. Both are really nice guys who not only did me a huge favor, but also were extremely warm and welcoming to me. It's always great meeting fellow enthusiasts and good people. Thanks again guys!

I know this site is well-known for its friendly and helpful participants, but I felt that JimN696 and Strong-Pimp-Hand deserved to be singled out for their willingness to step forward and help a guy out. We're really lucky to have them both! If I can ever be of any assistance to you, please let me know.

Greg
