I just ran across an '86 740 turbo diesel sedan for sale. The body and interior are really nice. It has 120 K miles. The owner tried to replace the injector pump and timing belts, but got it out of time and said that it revs up very slowly. I know that these require some special tools and knowledge to work on. Would his mistake have hurt the engine? The car has been sitting for 3 years since he did the belt replacement. He said to make an offer, and I'm a bit unsure of what this one is worth. I've never owned a diesel before, but constantly read on here about them. Once again the body and interior are really nice.
Thanks in advance.
