My Kickdown cable Blues 200 1991

A little history
'91 245 wagon 229000 miles on it when purchased.
Bought car over E-Bay (from my mechanic)
He had bought it from a customer of his.

He has been taking care of it since '96 - before that dealer, and
everything was done by book, and then some.
Rotors, timing chain, and oxigen sensor, tune up +++ was done.
And just passed inspection (good till 04/09 yea!)

2 weeks ago my kickdown cable got stuck pulled out.
Last monday the car started to shift hard and won't go into 4'th.
Plus the up arrow came on. Hmm, They can't be all related.

Fuse eleven blown, traced it to the wire from the selenoid shorting out.
Cleaned it with brake clean and put a shrink tube over it to protect from shorting.

Tue no forth wed yes thur till now no forth.

Ok replace kickdown cable today.

First fun Nut on tube was a b**ch to undue, Got it to turn 1 rev and then it stopped. Try a little more force, oops put a crack in the other nut to pan.
Trip to u-doit junkyard for new pan. Just a note inside of pan only had a slight film on it.

I had read on the brick someplace to pump air in the top connection of the cooler, it will push the fluid into the trans, nope just built up pressure and when i took the hose off got doused with tranny fluid.

My problem right now is that I can not get the kickdown cable to seat correctly into the trans.

It has been a fun day with my Brick.

Rich L.
