Simple gasket problem 140-160

I recently installed a new "cardboard" gasket from IPD when I replaced the fuel pump. Problem is, it slowly drips oil between the gasket and the engine block. The block mating surface was thoroughly cleaned before installation, and the bolts are tight.

Should I try another type gasket for this application? Perhaps the hard plastic type like the one between the spacer and fuel pump? Or even the "create your own gasket" blue stuff from a tube? Are there any synthetic rubber gaskets out there that may perform better, or do you think the cardboard gasket is just defective?

By the way, the pump, spacer, and pump gasket fit great and work good, and the block did not seem to have any imperfections at this spot.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
