I got my "new" 1993 240 to replace my 1988 240DL, and I can't believe how much better this car is in general. The ride quality, fuel efficiency, less noise, windows you can actually see out of... But anyway I'm finally getting around to some work that beeds to be done. I have noticed that when I'm on an interstate going perhaps 65 mph, I hear a squeaking/whistling noise from under the dash. Looking at the PO's records, he took it to the Volvo dealer of a whole host of things, complaining that "speedometer cable is noisy" (wtf? they havent used cables in forever.) They say that the noise is in the speedometer head itself, though it appears that everything the dealer did on this car they managed to screw up, so I'm not exactly confident in their knowledge. Anyone had a problem like this? i have a couple long trips this summer on the Interstates so I'd like to have this fixed before I go crazy.
