Wierd Whining Noise from Driveshaft? 89 240 200

89 240 - 250,000 kilometers

I started to hear this funny whistling noise I thought at first, was coming from the dash.

Upon closer listening I realized this whistling was coming from below the e-brake console. I'm thinking it is after the trans where it connects to the driveshaft?

It only makes that noise when the car is moving over like 5mph or so. Also makes noise in reverse. Quiets right away when stopped. Still makes noise when rolling in neutral.

Any ideas as to what the problem is? Can it hold off for a week or so, or will I blow my driveshaft off or something terrible? Good thing it didn't do this during my mechanical inspection... I was driving the car very hard that day, as it hasn't seen much action for the past few months.

The whine is fairly noisy too, you definately hear it. The trans is okay. I'm not experienced with driveshaft stuff or u-joint things.

Center driveshaft bearing? Tailshaft bushing or w/e??

Ideas would be much appreciated,

TIA,

Amar
