1991 240 Air Conditioning 200 1991

I have a 1991 volvo 240 non turbo that I bought a little over 2 years ago and over all the car is in excelllent shape. The one situation I have with the car is that the air conditioner freon is a little low causing the compressor to cycle on and off. The man I bought the car from said that it did have a leak and that he had fixed the leak and used all the R12 that he had and the system was still a little low causing the cycleing. I thought he probably was just telling me that to make me feel that there was nothing major wrong with then AC system.

Well after 2 years I figure that he was telling me the truth because they system does not seem to have changed one bit so I do feel that it would be OK to add the necessary R12 to the system to get up to the point it needs to be. I feel very lucky that there is not a leak. I have came across a couple of cans of Dupont R12 and would like to add it to the system.

Now my question is...does anyone know where the low point to add the R12 is located? And does anyone know the proper amount of pressure that the system needs to operate efficently?

Thanks in advance for any info that may help me with this issue.
