Rough running in first 60 seconds of operation: Cold start valve? 200

Hey brickboarders,

I own a well maintained 1982 242 that has developed a rough idle at startup in the last month or so. It persists for about 60 seconds at which time the engine runs smoothly, and it appears to run well throughout the RPM range.

As background, there are no overheating issues, plugs, points, wires, cap & rotor, and flame trap element have all been replaced in the last 5k. Oil change with Mobil One every 3k or so. Values adjusted in the last 7,500, and fluid levels are all well within the proscribed range. I've checked for a discontected vacuum hose and have not found anyting at this point.

Thought the cold start value might be implicated in the rough running, but the weather has been warmer in the mornings. If you've had some experience with this problem and its solution please let me know what your experience suggests. Thanks.

Regards, Dave
