Intermittent odometer 700 1989

Hi all,

Not sure how to tell if my odometer is VDO or Yazuki but I'm having this intermittent odometer function. At first it was at high speeds (120km/h and above). I took apart the odometer, gears looked ok. I cleaned the gears and associated mechanism and everything was ok ... for a while. Now it just randomly stops and works as it please. When it does stop working it will after a couple of miles. So far it would always work when the car is first driven. Once it decides to die, it'll stay dead for an uncertain period of time before all of a sudden coming back to life again!

I need my odometer back, advice anyone? BTW the speedometer works fine and the connection at the rear axle is good. I'm going to open up the cluster again but my bet is that the gear is fine.
