A question for Svens Maintainer - Another water pump issue 200 1991

SM,

The last couple days I have noticed a problem with my car temp going up. I first noticed it when I checked and topped off the AC system the other day. This was the first time I had run the AC in months. So while it idled I noticed the temp climb. It's happened a couple times since then, mostly with the AC on.

Then today I was headed home from school and I noticed it climbing higher than before. Right up to (covering) the lower white line of the orange zone. I needed gas so I stopped imediatly and found the resevour to be empty. I noticed a precipitate on the water pump, where the top hose connects.

So could it be a seal, a water pump, or a hose? Thoughts? Would a Volvo dealer or mechanic be the best and fastest place to get a replacement seal?

ps After I filled the reservour I was able to drive home, 4 miles, with the temp gauge actually lower than normal (by a tiny bit).

Thanks,

M
