965 1997 passenger power seat cushion removal...... S90-V90 1997

The car is the wifemobile, to the fix is not ultra-urgent, but...

Problem - Passenger seat had problems when we got the car in 2005. We were careful to not move the seat, as it would not move the opposite way.

Now, after the wash monkeys at the dealership moved it all the way forward, the seat is useless to anyone over 36 inches tall.

Seat moves forward, not back. It is now all the way forward.
Seat moves downward, not up. It is now all the way down.
Back tilts backwards, not forward. It is now way back.

Since the motor(s) did work, and smoothly, I am expecting that the problem is in the control switches.

Here's where I need advice: I want to remove the seat cushion to gain access to the control panel wiring.

Then I will attempt to supply 12v power to make the motor(s) run the other way. With the seat moved rearward, tilted forward, and level raised up, it should be useable to an adult.

Note that the price quoted for a new control panel at the dealership is close to $400, not for me!

Any ideas for getting the seat cushion removed? Are there problems due to the seat being at its bottom level?

All tips, ideas, experiences, instructions, URLs, etc. will be most appreciated.

Many thanks, in advance.

Bob
