1964 P1800 Project Car Available 1800 1964

Hello everyone. I don't normally post to the 1800 section as I am a 444 guy (1958), however, I met a really nice guy yesterday in Norfolk, VA, named Phillip who was hosting a yard sale. At the sale, he had his 1964 P1800 project car, which he was selling. I told him that I was restoring my father's 444 (see http://www.scarolas.com/58VolvoPV444/ if interested) and I checked out the car. The car was in his garage, where it has been for a while. It is white and has a B18 engine. The body seemed very solid with no rust that I could find during a quick glance (I had the wife and two kids with me so had little time for a full inspection). The floor pans and trunk were also very solid - which is much more than I can say for my 444 before I started restoration! He said he had many other parts for the car as well - many spare items. He said that it had been sitting for 10+ years when he bought it, and it fired right up to his surprise. Anyway, I asked how much he was looking to get and he said $2,000. He said he was probably going to put it up on Cragslist within a week and would consider less.
If you or someone you know are interested, the guy's name is Phillip Merritt and his email address is phillip dot merritt at verizon dot net. I also have his phone number if you would rather call.
I told him although I was interested in the car, it was out of my budget right now - plus I have enough to do to get my 444 back on the road without another Volvo project. I told him I would post this note to my fellow Brickboarders to help.

Regards,
