Blower motor will not shutoff 200

1992 244 DL for some reason the Blower motor will not shutoff, its not making any noises and when i do turn it on you can tell the speed difference. everything seems to be shutoff, but all the vents are blowing hot air (don't have the AC recharged yet). Before i rip apart the center console, is there some other things i should look for (bad vacuum hose, relay,...) or is the most likely problem just a bad speed switch... Far as i know nothing has ever been replaced, just bought the car about a month ago, but the previous owners were not the brightest people on the block either...
