I'm considering doing an overhaul of my braking system. I did the master cylinder and stainless steel brake lines a few months ago. Now, with the prospect of a longer commute for a job, I worry about whether I need to do an overhaul of the calipers and rotors.
I already have a brake junction box ready to go in, so that's not a big deal. (Symptoms: leaky and bulb out warning light diagnosed by Brickboarders)
In reading this thread about brake upgrades (great thread, by the way: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=1022029&show_all=1) I think I may go with Brembos all around with either Volvo pads or PBR pads.
Now my question is, I know for sure the front rotors on my '81 are solid rotors. Are they interchangeable with vented rotors or am I better off sticking with solid rotors? Is the change-over pretty straightforward? I just wanted to make sure before I bite the bullet and order parts.
Thanks for all of the informative info you all have provided since I joined about two years ago.
