Instrument panel replacement for 740 700

My instrument panel has a crack in the clear plastic facing, and the clock does not work. I found an identical replacement at a pick and pull and am planning to replace it. Anything I need to be aware of or is it pretty much straight forward? I looked in the FAQs and there's a brief paragraph about it, but experience can be valuable in making this a straight forward job or a nuisance.
