I heard somewhere that disconnecting the battery for some time allows the ECU to reset to factory defaults, thus forgetting its accumulated drive style knowledge...

Does anyone know anything about this?

On my 850, the battery went flat, and some weeks later, when I got round to replacing it, I found that my MPG has gone up by about 10% - quite a surprise!

My 240 is a 1988 2.3 auto GLT, 230K with CIS and a mere 148,000 on the clock...
