hello,
i have a 1990 240 sedan with about 240 000 km (just a baby right?).
My question is that when the gas gets low, I hear sort of a "suction" sound underneath the car near the fuel pump. upon inspection, it sounds like the pump is sucking the fuel rather than a constant flow. is this an indication of a dying fuel pump? or would or will it just quit outright?
Soon I plan on getting the fuel filter changed, so I'm wondering if I should just order a fuel pump from fcpgroton and do both, so I'm not left stranded one day.
Thoughts?
G
P.S. What effects would a dying fuel pump have on start-up/rough running. The car often has a hard-start. I had the check valve replaced about 4 years ago.
