Sunroof problem 900 1991

Hi all,
the sunroof on my sister's 1991 940GL has stopped working. Itz in the down position- so our Haynes book with itz- "open the sunroof to access the actuator" or whatever is no help. The passenderside back corner dips down some and sunroof will not move when either the button commands are pushed. It will make noise like it is trying to, but it seems to be jammed or stuck. Is there anyway that we can fix it or access the internal workings without destroying it? Or are we stuck with having to take it to a Volvo dealership? Thanks again for the help all!
