Hi. Here is the ad of a car I am possibly interested in. Any opinions on what the transmission problem might be/cost to fix? Thanks!!!!!!!!
I am selling my 1990 Volvo 240 DL Station Wagon.
It has recently developed a leak in the transmission. I believe it is a leak on the driveshaft seal, which is not a huge issue, but I am not a mechanic. It still drives just fine, you just have to keep an eye on the transmission fluid level. I'm selling the car as-is with this known problem.
The engine starts up perfectly every time, purrs like a kitten; runs well and strong. The engine itself is very clean. The car was originally (and recently) from Arizona, so there is not a speck of rust on it. The paint has a few nicks here and there, and has some swirl marks, but looks great for a 17 year old car. The differential / rear axle seems to be in good shape. It has approximately 109,000 miles on the odometer.
There is one dent in the passenger-side rear door. The previous owner was a smoker, and you can still smell it a little when it's warm. The seats are a blue leather-ish material, the driver side "leather" is cracked, but comfortable. The AC does not work.
