So after passing NY city inspection after the 3rd try, my 'new' 92 940 GL died and won't start. The shop says the coil burned out (car has the funky Regina coil which costs big $$$). It's been really hot here the last couple days, and the car was doing highway speeds on the dyno machine, but of course standing still with no moving air through the engine compartment. Engine compartment and the coil were BAKING! But even after cool-off, there was power to the coil but no spark.
I'm inclined to trust their diagnosis, but since this is such an expensive part I'm wondering if anyone might have other suggestions or similar experiences. I pulled the codes from the diagnostic unit per the FAQ and got a perfect 1-1-1 for the ignition diagnostic.
Thanks in advance for any help!
