Dear Brickboard,
I have an 82, 244 GL that will start just fine and revs beautifully when the engine is cool (75F)but runs rough and eventually stalls after about 1 minute of operation (in the summer). It won't even rev up after it is warm. It just makes a "bubbling" sound and stalls out. The coolant temp. sensor checks out fine. I checked all the vacuum hose and replaced the stiff or broken ones. I also replaced the ignition coil. I checked the fuel pressure and delivery volume from the main pump and the transfer (in-tank) pump. These were working OK when I tested them (don't know if it is an intermittant problem with the pumps). All of the fuel injectors form a good symmetrical spray. I disconnected the downpipe from the Cat. converter to see if there was a pressure restriction. This did not help either.
Any advice is welcome.I have been down for 4 months now. Would the oxygen sensor cause this much problem?
Thanks
Gerald
