Fuel in the intake air flex hose 200

76 242 DL B21F

This car is always very reliable but...

Every once and a while the car will not fire up. When this happens I always find a large puddle of fuel (500ml or so) sitting in the intake air hose between the air filter and the air flow meter.

When I drain the gas from the air hose, and re-connect it, the car fires right up.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

How is the fuel getting there?
- Leaking "cold start injector"?
- Leaking "fuel distributer"?

How can I test / fix this?

this happens randomly, it may be fine for two weeks, and then happen twice in two days, then be fine again for another week. usually happens with the engine warm (2-4 hours after previous drive - so engine is not cold, or hot)

me and my wife drive the car everyday ( We take turns driving the 76 242DL -155KM, and the 82 242 GLT - 425Km) Since this is an obvious safety hazzard, we are very hesatant to drive the car and want to fix this problem as soon as possible!

any help is greatly appreciated
