rear shocks....? 900 1995

could anyone please help me with the question of rear shock absorbers on a Volve 960 estate? I've got a really nice example- great working order ( apart from the usual solenoid problems..) BUT both rear shocks need replacing. I'm told that I need to replace them with 'self-levelling' shocks but someone else tells me I can fit with fixed shocks?


any ideas?
