87 240 Wagon ATF Fluid 200

Hi,

I live in Washington DC and have the above car. I use it for ordinary transportation - I do not have a trailer, etc.

I need to know what ATF fluid to use. Here are the facts:

I let the car idle for 10 minutes and checked it. My ATF fluid was barely on the stick when I meassured it. Note that my temperature gauge is not at the 9:00 position (this is a seperate problem); therefore, I have to use some guess work in determining how much fluid to add.

I want to add enough fluid to be able to run the car for 30 minutes and get a real reading. I do not want to run the car with the ATF fluid this low. The owners manual says that the difference between MIN and MAX is about 1/2 of a quart. I want to put about this much in, run for 30 minutes, and then remeassure.

My owner's manual does not say what ATF fluid to use. Again, what brand, type, etc should I use?

Thanx,
Kreg
