Along with some other electrical issues I've been trying to work out (and having reasonable success), one that I have has stumped me.
When I turn on the parking lights and/or headlights, the brake lights also become illuminated. (so the lower inner taillights come on and the outer lower brake lights come on--that's more for me than to describe it to everyone else...just been looking at wiring diagrams for too long)
So, when I hit the brake pedal, there's just sort of a faint pulsation in the brake lights....and they stay on at the same intensity.
Now, here's the weird thing: With the parking lights/headlights off, I depress the brake pedal and the brake lights AND rear parking lights come on AS WELL AS the instrument cluster illumination lights and front parking lights!!! WTF???
I disconnected both leads from the brake light switch (car also has cruise control, but that doesn't work) and from cruise vacuum switch, but the same thing happens.
Is there some type of ground problem? I need to have the brake lights working correctly....any help would be appreciated.
BTW, I also posted a reply to the OD dash light/ Temp guage troubleshooting thread...need some help w/ that as well.
Thanks,
Jay Levine.
too many volvos have come and gone to list.
