It's been too long since I had a problem I couldn't fix by myself, I miss the days of asking you fellas what's wrong and how to fix it.
Last month my overdrive was popping the fuse repeatedly. Changed the relay, fixed some bad spots in the wiring, and still the fuse was popping. I decided just to Dremel out the solenoid after my lack of OD made me forgo a few long distance trips. Got a little Dremel-happpy and nicked the outer wall of the solenoid and then the O-Ring kit I had didn't have one to fit so I had to reuse the old ones. Works just fine. Shifts into overdrive happily and doesn't leak a drop.
Installed an antenna up/down swtich using an old-style rear defroster switch. It is the most fun thing I've put on my car to date, and I don't know why.
Last week I got an A cam and adjustable gear from Dale and it's waiting until the car has a few days of down time to go on. And I'm not worried about it.
It's almost boring. My car is too easy to work on. I know it like an extension of myself. If it is hurting I can pinpoint where and why with almost the same speed I could point to a mosquito bite.
And so, in the midst of all the fuel pump, hesitation, rust hole, wiring harness, no-start questions, I feel left out.
All I've got to post is: Doin' Fine.
