My wife rejects the S40 in favor of a Nissan Altima. Any suggestions?

I am looking for a daily driver to supplement my aging 240, but it is hard to locate clean used Volvos at a reasonable price in this area. (Southeast USA, northern Louisiana / central Mississippi / central Alabama).

I have been looking at a few "pre-owned" S40's, but we keep on running across very nice Nissan Altimas and Toyota Camrys for nearly the same price. She currently drives a 2001 Nissan Altima, so she is already leaning in that direction. There is no comparison in interior space with the S40, and the S60s that we have seen are a bit too $$$.

How can I bring her back into the Volvo fold? Or is the Altima a "no-brainer"?
