Valve cover gasket. Change it or wait? 900

Hi there, I have a 1994 940 turbo with about 86K. Do I need to change the valve cover gasket or is it something I should just monitor and only change if I see leaking? We also have a 3 series bmw and people in the bmw forums are very big on changing the vcg once the car reaches a certain mileage. I was wondering if it is the same way with Volvos?

Thanks,

Laura
