1990 740 16 valve GLE blown rod only 60 K on motor 700 1990

bought a 1990 740 GLE 16 valve wagon MINT with only 60k on motor for $3200. Three months later and $1700 in exhaust, rear brakes, one relay the rod blew. I am looking at my options because now I am sunk into the car. $4000 new motor, $2600 new lower half of motor, or used motor that I haven't found yet. Who's got suggestions?
