I think something is missing here. With all the talk about stuck shifters, it got me thinking. Car is new to me and I've never seen the button that probably should be there. What is the purpose of this button and does it's absence mean it may have been altered to my advantage. I can hear the switch near the shifter going off when I tap the brake. The shift doesn't move unless key on and brake applied.
